With a service area that covers the Portland Metro area, the Oregon Coast, up the Columbia River Gorge, and all along the I-5 corridor, Spray On Foam is your go-to option for industrial, manufacturing, or commercial insulation needs. Outlasting traditional insulations such as blown-in or fiberglass, foam fills and seals all voids to provide lifetime protection against the elements.
How Does Spray On Foam Work?
Applying spray foam is a relatively straightforward process. Two liquids are sprayed into a void (open wall, between ceiling joists, crawl space, etc.) which then expands to fill the area. There is little to no waste and the “R-value” is based on what is required by code.
There are two options when it comes to spray foam insulation: open cell and closed cell. Open-cell spray foam is a little more pliable than the closed-cell foam. This makes it ideal for walls or cavities that have electrical, plumbing, or other kinds of infrastructure present. The spongy nature won’t put undue stress on pipes or conduits.
Closed-cell foam is ideal for large, uninterrupted areas or areas that may see a lot of traffic. Although it is applied the same way, closed-cell foam is much more rigid and can survive the occasional bump from machinery or equipment.
Available Products
While open and closed cells are the two types of spray foam, they can be engineered for specific purposes. For example, we use roofing-specific foam to help with energy loss, improve the stability of, and lengthen the lifespan of your roof.
Other products are designed to act as weather or vapor barriers and other products are engineered to be used in schools, medical, and other sensitive facilities. Although gasses may be present during the application, and there must be proper ventilation, once the foam is set there is no more off-gassing.
While Spray On Foam may cost more upfront, it will save you money in the long run on your energy bills. It will also make your facility more comfortable to work in for your employees and provide a safer work environment.
